Fiberglass Swimming Pool Installation in Northern Illinois
“Trusted by homeowners across Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin for fast, professional fiberglass swimming pool installation, repairs, leak detection, and water delivery.”
Why Fiberglass Swimming Pools Are Built for Northern Illinois Backyards
If you’re installing a swimming pool in Northern Illinois, the climate matters more than most homeowners realize. Between freezing winters, shifting soil, and seasonal use, not every pool type performs the same.
That’s why many homeowners in Northern Illinois choose fiberglass swimming pools.
Unlike vinyl liner or concrete pools, fiberglass pools are engineered to handle freeze-thaw cycles with less cracking, lower maintenance, and faster installation timelines. They’re built as a single, durable shell that moves with the ground instead of fighting against it.
We install fiberglass pools throughout Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin and have seen firsthand how well they perform in Midwest conditions.

The cost of installing a fiberglass pool depends on a number of factors, including:
- Pool size and design
- Site conditions and access
- Additional features like decking, heating, and covers
Since every property is different, most projects require a custom quote.
Several local factors can influence your final cost, such as:
The size, shape, and features of the fiberglass pool you choose
- Upgrades like tanning ledges, spas, water features, automatic covers, or LED lighting
- Backyard access, especially in established neighborhoods with fencing, mature landscaping, or tighter side yards
- Grading, drainage, and soil preparation, which can vary from lot to lot across Northern Illinois
Municipal permitting requirements, inspections, and code considerations depending on your city or county
- The amount of decking, patio space, retaining work, or finishing details included in the project

We love our pool and hot tub.Posted on Craig HubertzTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After our initial meeting with Jen, from Lake Geneva Pool, we were very happy to order a fiberglass swimming pool. I was a little apprehensive about tearing up my yard, but Tim and crew did a great job of excavating and delivering the pool to the site. He assured me that floating the pool over the lake was the best way to get it to our lake side spot! (ask him to show you the video) Installation went well, the team did a great job of installing and educating us on care and maintenance of the pool and water. When I saw the enjoyment on the faces of my grandkids, it made it all the more worth it! We are truly thankful that Jen and Tim made the whole process possible. (my yard and patio recovered very quickly) Thanks Jen and Tim!Posted on Mike EldridgeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A truly wonderful experience. I receive prompt replies that reflect a customer first attitude... they have been servicing my pool for two years. I wish I would have had their expertise for installation but regrettably had gone with a different company not knowing about LG Pool and Spa.Posted on James DeLucaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My review of Lake Geneva Pool and Spas has spun up and down to say the least. Failed few fittings under concrete as a pool owner on my 3rd year of the pool was a heart breaker. After watching his service crew today in action, it was huge sigh of relief. There is definitely a failure that is likely caused by something a miss.. natural land settlement thru frost cycles or defective fitting molds or winterizing efforts from a slew of items like fittings or a severe winter cold and no snow cover. It is possible these leaks might explain why year 2 we were chasing on keeping the pool full so much. Adding so much well water may be the next challenge for keeping pool chemicals where they belong. It was a lot. Of course they came to air test, seen it failed and left. A little miscommunication made it seem he was unable to fix this, too busy or simply due to his frustration as an installer not wanting to see this happen and saying something that made us pool owners feel that we had to hunt people to fix this on our own probably spun interpretations in what he meant in a wrong direction. Hence I went into over-drive before my busy work loads to find a contractor to help. Today's fix cleared all that after a good long talk.. This is a tough thing for any in-ground pool owner to face, because it creates a level of anxiety on how real bad this is and could become. Good comforting communication should keep those interpretations clearer. To my surprise Tim was on this immediately. As much as he disagreed that I pre-excavated the three potential points of interest that needed to be done. It saved a ton of time. His service guys were hard working and kept humor going as they fixed one leak to find another to find another. All is fixed and now and I get the fun to back fill, and get my decking back to normal. One super smart thing he pushed hard on at the build and PROVED itself this spring, even though it was more costly than I cared for and I thought was an upsell scare tactic, was to use tile versus concrete. Whether Miramar Stone, Uni-Loc pavers, or what ever, they peeled up real easy for me to get investigating on this versus waiting for a leak detection service to arrive mid spring to late summer. Th huge plus is you can reuse those stones or pavers and things will be back to normal quickly and a little touch up of backfilling material.
What to Know About Installing a Pool in Northern Illinois
Permitting & Village Requirements
Many communities in Northern Illinois have their own setback rules, barrier requirements, permit steps, and inspection processes. Our team helps you understand what may be required for your town or county so your project can move forward with confidence.
Access on Established Lots
Unlike brand-new developments, many Northern Illinois homes have mature trees, fences, tighter side-yard access, or existing patios and landscape features. These conditions can make construction more complex, but we plan for them carefully so your fiberglass inground pool can be installed as efficiently as possible.
Timeline to Swim
Many fiberglass pool projects move faster than homeowners expect once permits are approved and scheduling is in place. While timing depends on the property, scope, and season, fiberglass remains one of the faster paths to a finished inground pool — especially compared with more construction-heavy pool types.
Financing Your Pool Project
For many homeowners, financing is an important part of planning a pool project.
Fiberglass pools are often a more predictable investment compared to other pool types due to their faster installation timelines and reduced long-term maintenance costs. If you’re considering financing your pool, there are several options available depending on your situation. Many homeowners explore solutions like home improvement financing, personal loans, or working with lending partners. We’re happy to walk you through what to expect and help you understand how financing may fit into your project.

What permits are required for a pool in Northern Illinois?
That depends on your municipality. Requirements can vary by city or county and may involve zoning setbacks, fencing, drainage, and inspections.
How much does a fiberglass pool cost in Northern Illinois?
